The Namaste restaurant is the latest venture from the long-running Glasgow favourite Delhi Darbar based in Bishopbriggs. They offer a unique menu of delicious dishes, specialising in regional cuisine from India, with a focus on quality and fresh ingredients.
I was approached to develop the brand identity and website, and worked alongside Interior Design studio Burns Design, to develop colour schemes, interior decoration and fabrics for the restaurant.
Additionally, we worked closely with copywriter Alison Mckay to develop their brand voice and give life to the menu dishes descriptions, and Big Think Agency to help with the marketing and promotion.
Delhi Darbar were an already established and reputable eatery in Glasgow’s Bishopbriggs. But the approach for the Namaste venture was to be of something new and fresh, but retaining the quality and name of Delhi Darbar.
Rich gold, deep petrol greens and sandy orange tones were used for the branding that were carried over to the interior furnishings that were inspired by the mid-19th century Indian Summer Houses of Delhi.
The intricate logo symbol is influenced by Mughal patterns and Indian archways. The symbol was also used as a pattern element, used across furnishings and wood interior objects.
Finally, we created a marketing animation by using imagery of Mughal emperors, intricate patterns and architectural features to evoke the feeling of Old India.
Using the logo symbol, a pattern was created that could be transferred to furnishings and wood interior objects. These subtle touches help to enhance the brand experience across the restaurant interiors.
