McFly’s Chicken is a new and exciting chicken wing and burger concept offering an irresistible selection of loaded chicken wings, buttermilk burgers, fresh salads and zesty slaws.

From their beginnings as a successful festival fixture across the UK, McFly’s approached me to help them refresh their existing branding into a standout identity with retro influence and strong, bright colours.

The business evolved after their successful first year as a delivery service across Glasgow, which led to the opening of their first restaurant in Glasgow’s Southside.

Project approach

Every item on the McFly’s menu is vibrant and full of colour, so it was important that the branding reflected their dishes. 

As we explored the menu item names and ingredients, a variety of typographic and illustrated posters were designed for the restaurant interiors, adding some decoration to the walls and reflecting the eclectic menu ingredients.

In addition to this, animated Giphy stickers of menu items and additional brand assets were created to be used across the company Instagram account, adding to the brand experience.

Additional Assets

As McFly’s operate as a restaurant and takeaway service, they are particularly active across social media.

By using some menu items, logos and related designs, we created some supporting animated elements for Giphy that could be used by the social media team and customers across Instagram stories. These fun elements help to engage the brand with its customers and add to the dining experience.
